A Slam Dunk for Milwaukee: Recapping the Wade & Diener Home Court Weekend

The final buzzer has sounded on the 2026 Wade & Diener Home Court Weekend, and the Greater Milwaukee Hotel & Lodging Association (GMHLA) couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome! From July 16–18, our city was buzzing with energy as we welcomed basketball legends Dwyane Wade and Travis Diener back to the area for an unforgettable few days of celebration, community, and giving back.

Weekend Highlights

The weekend was packed with memorable moments, but two events stood out as major highlights for GMHLA leaders:

• Cork to Cork Guest Bartending Event:  The energy was high as Wade and Deiner competed behind the bar. Fans, locals, and community leaders came together for a high-spirited event that captured the camaraderie and vibrant culture of Milwaukee
• Pages & Plates Literacy Dinner: A beautiful and inspiring evening dedicated to raising funds and awareness for local literacy initiatives. It was a privilege to be part of a night that drove such meaningful, long-lasting impact for our community's youth.
